Ignore the story bit with Billy - to beat this level, you need to cross the XXX... bridge on the top floor.

There's something about block-spawning that you may have noticed in the previous level, The Whelm, which you will have to apply here.

That's a long bridge! You'll need every X block in this level to close it.

There are too many X blocks to place them all side-by-side, either north-south or west-east. Therefore, the only way to make the XXX-etc bridge is...?

You will need to stack every X block on top of each other to close the bridge! This is hinted in the previous level, The Whelm, where those stacks of O blocks got taller and taller - you can stack blocks as high as you like!

The Whelm also shows off the easiest way to stack blocks vertically.

Blocks which respawn on the same blockpad stack vertically. All the X blocks need to be smashed so that they respawn on the same blockpad. But which one?

There is one X block which forces you to use a particular blockpad.

Recall that you can push blocks downstairs, but you can't push them upstairs again.

Spoiler: Hint 10
There is one X block in the pit at the centre of the level. It cannot be moved out of the pit towards any higher blockpads. Therefore, you need to push every X block down the pit to meet it!

It's easy to miss a block in this large level. The view square in the pit at the centre of the level will help you locate any remaining blocks that need to be pushed down to the centre.

Spoiler: Hint 12 (solution)
Push each X block towards the centre. You might need to smash them so they respawn on blockpads which are in easier locations. Work your way down until every X block is in the lowest pit in the centre, then smash them all so that they stack up on the central blockpad. Once they're all stacked up, the bridge will close and you can walk across it to exit the level.

Where can you fling to the present from?

You can't fling directly into the present but there's a square one block south of the present you can stand on.

Spoiler: Hint 4 (solution)
Fling from here, on the eighth X from the south Solve the level as normal to make the XXXXXXXXXXX bridge. With careful observation, you can count the number of squares north from the exit to the present. Walk up to the XXXXXXXXXXX bridge, stand on the 8th X counting from the south. (Note you can't fling into the present directly, so if you hold Shift on the 9th X from the south you'll see you are in line with the present.)

There is 1 achievement available for this level: Tall Stack: Stack 34+ blocks vertically. (You may have gotten this before in The Whelm but it's definitely required to solve the puzzle here. There are 34 X blocks in the level.)
