Normal solution

Hints are given below when you expand the boxes.

Spoiler: Hint 1 (general strategy)
It's getting a bit harder now. The path to the exit is comprised of three smaller bridges. You'll need to solve three smaller puzzles to close them all. Remember, you can smash a block to reset its position to the nearest matching blockpad if it's stuck in a corner.
Spoiler: Hint 2 (the chamber to the east)
The blocks to the east will close the WHO bridge. Start by deciding where you want to spell WHO.
Spoiler: Hint 3
One of the blocks in WHO is more restricted than the others. It's best to push the other letters towards that one.
Spoiler: Hint 4
The O will be hard to work with, because it starts off against a wall and you can only really push it into corners. It will be easier to push the W and the H to the west of the O.
Spoiler: Hint 5
From the W blockpad where it starts and respawns, push the W block west, then south, then west again. It should now be tucked into the southwest corner.
Spoiler: Hint 6
Push the W along the orange arrow, then push the H along the yellow arrow. Figuring out what to do with the O is left as an exercise for the reader.

From the H blockpad where it starts, push the H west, then south. You should now have WH in the southwest corner, and pushing the O into position will be trivial.

Spoiler: Hint 7 (the chamber to the south)
The blocks in the pit to the south will close the ARE bridge. This is the most difficult of the three puzzles, because it's teaching you something new. Try exploring the level a little more and see what you notice.
Spoiler: Hint 8
You won't be able to spell ARE from the A, R and E blocks' starting positions, no matter how much you push them. What else can you do to the blocks?
Spoiler: Hint 9
Have you noticed that the blockpads for the A, R and E aren't actually in that pit? Try smashing the blocks, and then see if you can find where they end up.
Spoiler: Hint 10
As you climb out of the pit using the stairs to the south, you'll end up on the floor above. That's where the A, R and E blockpads are, and that's where the A, R and E should now be! You're now in a better position to spell ARE.
Spoiler: Hint 11
There's a little hole in the floor here that drops back into the southern pit. How can you use that to spell ARE?
Spoiler: Hint 12
You'll need to think in a different direction.
Spoiler: Hint 13
Remember Little Arena, the level where you bullied Billy? How were the blocks in that level arranged?
Spoiler: Hint 14
You'll need to spell ARE vertically! You'll need to drop the letters down the pit on top of each other to spell ARE going downwards.
Spoiler: Hint 15
Push the ARE blocks (once smashed and reborn up here) in the order specified in this diagram

Push the E west, then the R north, so that they both fall down the pit. Push the A north and then west. The blocks should be stacked on top of each other and the ARE bridge will close. Then just climb the stairs to the west and drop back down into the main area.

Spoiler: Hint 16 (the chamber to the west)
The blocks to the west will spell YOU and close the YOU bridge. Start by choosing an easy place to spell YOU.
Spoiler: Hint 17
If you choose the right place, spelling YOU here is almost as easy as spelling BRIDGE was in the previous level.
Spoiler: Hint 18
Remember, as you saw in Keeping Vault, words can be spelled north-south as well as east-west.
Spoiler: Hint 19
Isn't the east wall tempting? You can shove the Y and O east from where they start/respawn to spell YO. All you have to do now is work out what to do with the U.
Spoiler: Hint 20
Once you push the U southeast like this, the Y and O slot into place.

From the U blockpad where it starts, push the U east, then south. Then simply push the Y and O east to spell YOU running down the southeast corner of that chamber.

Present solution

Spoiler: Hint 1 (present location)
From the ARE area, take the stairs all the way up. Fling east across the level (you need to be near the south edge of the platform to land). Note the ERA bridge to access the present.
Spoiler: Hint 2
Assuming you've already figured out how to spell ARE, use a similar procedure to spell ERA.
Spoiler: Hint 3
Remember blocks can be destroyed and rebirthed on their blockpads.
Spoiler: Hint 4 (solution)
Form ERA vertically by pushing A, then R, then E into the pit. Push E out of the way north. Push A north then west into the pit. Push R north into the pit. Smash E to reset it then push it west into the pit. Go up the stairs, fling across the level east, and cross the ERA bridge to claim the present.

Extras

Spoiler: Achievements
There is 1 achievement available for this level:
  • Flat Era: Get the Present in Slightly Low Basement without vertical spelling.
Spoiler: Hint 1
Smash the E, R, A blocks to bring them up to their blockpads.
Spoiler: Hint 2
Observe the layout of the pillars/blockpads. The R is hard to get into the same row or column as the other letters.
Spoiler: Hint 3
There's a trick of sorts that makes this very easy.
Spoiler: Hint 4
You don't need to avoid using the hole in the floor completely, just don't spell vertically.
Spoiler: Hint 5 (solution)
Repeat the process exactly as you did to get the present normally (see Hint 4 Present solution above), except once you push blocks into the hole, go down the stairs and push them north, so they form ERA spelled vertically (i.e. north-to-south, not vertically up-to-down) in the room below. Claim the present to get the achievement.
Spoiler: View squares
There are 1 view squares on this level:
  • On the upper floor near the ARE block pads, showing the bridges to the exit.
Spoiler: Hanging men
