Normal solution

Hints are given below when you expand the boxes.

Spoiler: Hint 1 (ruling out possibilities)
Don't be put off, it's not that bad - if you got past the hard way in Windings, you can get past this! Use the view-square near the start to get a full view of the maze and plan a route.
Spoiler: Hint 2
Pay attention to how the spikes are laid out here. They cut across a lot of paths, and so they limit the possibilities in this room.
Spoiler: Hint 3
Diagram of Rotarinth showing how the spikes divide the area

Any line of spikes which connects two axles or two pillars or an axle and a pillar is essentially a wall. There's a long wiggly wall of spikes which joins the southwest pillar to the northeast pillar and stops just south of the way to the exit. This long wall divides the room in two. Noticing this simplifies the maze a lot. (If you're having trouble seeing what this means, see the diagram which traces the wall in red. Emm can never step across the red lines, either because there's an immovable obstacle like an axle there or because the spikes will kill her.)

Spoiler: Hint 4
You effectively only have two paths to think about - do you go around the east of the spike wall via the northeast corner of the maze, or do you push through the western half of the room? One of these paths is impossible.
Spoiler: Hint 5
If you go via the northeast corner, the spokes at the north of the room shaped like an upside-down T will need to be moved. You can't push the spokes from between the arms of the T, because Emm will be in the way. You can't push the spokes from the outside, because of the spikes lining the T. Therefore...
Spoiler: Hint 6
... those spokes can't be rotated. Therefore, you can't go around the east of the spike wall. Focus your efforts on the western half of the room.
Spoiler: Hint 7 (planning a route)
Near the southwest corner of the room, there are a few L-shaped spokes in various orientations. You'll need to make your way through these to reach the exit. Which ones can you push, and what other spokes need to be rotated out of the way first?
Spoiler: Hint 8
Do you see the present in the centre of the room? Do you see the axle directly west of that, with the L-shaped spokes attached? In order to negotiate the walls of spikes, you'll have to rotate those spokes counter-clockwise (i.e. push it going from east to west).
Spoiler: Hint 9
In order to push the spokes as described in Hint 8, you'll have to rotate the L-shaped spokes in the southwest corner out of the way, so that there isn't a spoke protuding north. You can't rotate these spokes counter-clockwise, because you can't get into a position to do so from where you are. So they must go clockwise.
Spoiler: Hint 10
In order to push the spokes as described in Hint 9, you need to rotate the horizontal spokes directly north of the starting point.
Spoiler: Hint 11
Have you noticed that when you rotate the horizontal spokes north of the start to a vertical position, you can step around them to the south? So rotating them vertically doesn't block your path to the west of the room.
Spoiler: Hint 12
In the above hints, we've laid out most of the solution backwards! Push the spokes in Hint 10, then push the spokes in Hint 9 (it'll take two separate pushes - careful with the spikes!), then push the spokes in Hint 8, and you're most of the way to the exit! There will be one more spoke in the way, but rotating it won't be an obstacle.
Spoiler: Hint 13 (full solution)
Follow the red arrows here to push the spokes around and clear a path to the exit. (I've marked the final position of one of the spoke pairs in grey here, to show that you need to walk around it.)

From the start, rotate the horizontal north-south orientated spokes north of the starting egg once. Rotate the L-shaped spokes attached to the axle in the southwest corner of the room clockwise twice (being careful to avoid the spikes - push the western spoke from the south, then push the northern spoke from the west). You should now be able to step immediately northwest of the pillar holding a present. Rotate the L-shaped spokes attached to the axle immediately west of the present counter-clockwise once. Rotate the L-shaped spokes attached to the axle immediately west of the pillar supporting a view-square counter-clockwise once. This will clear the path to the exit.

Present solution

Spoiler: Hint 1 (present location)
The present is easily visible from the start, on top of a pillar in the center of the level.
Spoiler: Hint 2
Note the stairs east of the exit. This lets you get on top of the axles!
Spoiler: Hint 3
Consider how you can get to the present. It's easier than it looks.
Spoiler: Hint 4 (solution)
Walk along the tops of the spokes and axles, flinging to the west wall to cross the gap to the present

If you solve the level as normal (described in the full solution hint above), everything will already be set up. Take the stairs up east of the exit, follow the path of axles to the east wall, then fling west. Follow the path of axles to the present.

Extras

Spoiler: Achievements
There are 0 achievements available for this level.
Spoiler: View squares
There are 2 view squares on this level:
  • Near the egg at the start, showing an overview of the level.
  • On a column in the NW corner:
Spoiler: Hint 1
Accessing this view square is a bit tricky, try getting to the present first.
Spoiler: Hint 2
Follow the solution to the present, continue north along the axles as far as you can go, then fling north to land on the axle in the NW corner. Stand on the view square to reveal a hidden message.
Spoiler: Hanging men
There are 0 hanging men on this level.
